Today was the first day of Team Taekwondo's 2014 Summer Camp. It was a fantastically superb day! We had plenty of time to run around and play in the taekwondo school. We also did math online using IXL and Sumdog. Before lunch, the competition team athletes got in a little extra training with Master Sky. The Dragons (K-2) watched classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle episodes during lunch, while the Tigers (3rd-5th) ate in the classroom and took advantage of some free time to play Animal Jam. After lunch, the Dragons and Tigers watched a movie, while the middle school group tried out their new Algebra program with Mrs. Dana --- it was a huge success! Science Time---while the Tigers were in the classroom learning about sedimentary, metamorphic and igneous rocks, the Dragons were playing Dragon, Dragon, Tiger (their version of duck, duck, goose) with Master Sky. The Tigers got their turn to study the rocks and both groups cracked open their very own geodes to see what was inside. Thankfully, Master Choi took over cracking the geodes open for us so we could see what was hiding inside. Also, the Tigers spent time reading and both groups made their own scratch art bookmarks. We ended the day with free time, playing on computers, building with Legos, creating scratch art masterpieces, and playing Chess and Jenga. What a great start to summer!
